Group Operations Manager

Bryn is a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. His final exams having been taken in June 2017. He is also holds an in-date FREC 3 (First Response Emergency Care) qualification. The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) was shortlisted for the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) ‘Qualification of the Year’ Award 2018, and is one of the few first aid qualifications recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Bryn joined the Royal Marines in March 2003 at the Commando Training Centre near Exeter. After completing the arduous thirty-week recruit training course and gaining the Determination Award he went on to serve as a Royal Marine Commando, during which time he was consistently commended for his professionalism and capability of working long hours in demanding conditions, whilst maintaining a sense of humour and cheerful demeanor.

Bryn served within 45 Commando and deployed on an operational tour of Northern Ireland in support of the Northern Ireland Police Service, where his leadership skills were rewarded with command of a section. Bryn was then drafted to The Commando Logistic Regiment Royal Marines, based in North Devon, where he saw further service in Afghanistan, in Helmand province where he participated in the Royal Marines Battle Group deployment as part of a NATO led stabilisation mission.

Bryn, was also deployed on a lengthy exercise as a Radio Operator, in the Mojave Desert of North America, a testing environment that requires high standards of stamina and personal discipline just to survive in extremes of heat and terrain. At the other end of the temperature scale, a deployment to North California and Norway, to further improve his fortitude and determination in the depths of arctic winters.

Bryn contracted with FSS in November 2009 as part of the Nigerian Ministry of Police Authority 7 Cities Crime Reduction Programme at Kaduna in Nigeria. He was in the training team for Border Security where he instructed Map Reading, Field Craft, Weapon Handling, Searching, Observation Posts, Physical Training, Fire Control Orders, Patrolling and Range Work. Bryn was there until the successful closure of the contract which saw the training of 500 officers in March 2010. In February 2011 FSS put Bryn through the internationally regarded and City & Guilds and SIA accredited 5-week Executive Protection Officers Course run by Delta One Limited in South Africa, which included full Bodyguard training, advanced and evasive driving, live fire drills to team level, unarmed fighting and advanced first aid as well as the modules for home, office, travel and route planning security. Bryn excelled during the mission planning phases of the course and was awarded “Top Student” and remained for a further week as a medical assistant deployed in a trauma ambulance gaining real life trauma management skills in Johannesburg.

In September 2011, the Company further enhanced Bryns security and risk management skills when he qualified in September 2011 in the SCTW 95 progamme as a Ships Security Officer trained in commercial anti piracy operations. FSS complemented this by further courses qualifying Bryn with an IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training. He is a qualified Security Trainer.

Up until November 2012, Bryn deployed from the Hereford office to support FSS international clients as an Executive Protection Officer having undertaken taskings in Liberia with FSS Client the Amway Corporation and Russia in 2011 with FSS Client Nomura Bank. In September 2011 Bryn was placed in the London based FSS Executive Protection Team detailed to provide EP services to the youngest son of a Forbes 10 High Net Worth Indian family who was undergoing a university degree.

Having demonstrated exemplary performance in the field, in late 2012 to broaden his security experience Bryn was invited by FSS Senior Management to fill the position of Guard Force Operations Manager for FSS Group’s subsidiary, FSS Jordan, managing the manned guard forces of the company’s client portfolio in the country for 2 years. His responsibilities grew and the Company added business development including the preparation of commercial proposals to his portfolio and through his own efforts Bryn secured the Arab Amman University as a Client, eventually running an FSSJ portfolio of guarding contracts worth over US$ 2 million in Amman, Safi and Aqaba.

To enhance Bryns experience within the FSS Group further, he was seconded to Field Services Liberia In late 2015 to mid 2016 in the role of an Administration and Logistics Manager. He ran the commercial operations for the FSS HGV vehicle fleet of 4 and 7 tonne trucks. On the run down of operations in Liberia Bryn was recalled to the UK and re-deployed as an Operations Manager by the Group running tasks for various Clients in diverse countries which in 2017-18 has included inter alia; Egypt, Ethiopea, Ghana, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Portugal and Turkey.

At age 35 Bryn remained the senior FSS Group Operations Manager planning and running a wide variety of Client taskings through full cycle as well as deploying as a Team Lead for higher profile Clients, However, in March 2019 sister Company Field Support Services Group Ltd secured a US$6.8 million security services contract providing armored B6 vehicles and fully equipped paramilitary escort teams made up of various nationality combat veterans for a major US Defence Contractor based in Kabul Afghanistan. Bryn has been running this contract since inception.

His principal hobby is boxing, boxing for Stamford Amateur Boxing Club. He also enjoys functional fitness and hill walking.
