Michelle Field

Michelle is the Director of Human Resources at FSS Group. She has overarching control of employee recruitment and staff training for the business’ global operations.

After completing her education at Bryn Hafren Girls School in South Wales 1982, Michelle secured a position on the Marks & Spencer trainee management program, specialising in personnel management. After successfully graduating from the program she worked as a Human Resources Manager responsible for recruitment, staff management and training within the West Midlands region up to 1986.

Michelle went on to take a position with Carvella Shoes, at their flagship store in Cardiff as the Store Manager, responsible for maximising turnover, stock control and staff management until 1988.

Michelle then secured the role of a Store Manager with Queensway Furniture Ltd, one of the UKs’ largest and leading furniture retailers at that time, running a store with 16 staff and a turnover of £2 million per annum, she was responsible for facilitating the day to day running of the operation, further highlights included much assistance with the opening of both the Basingstoke and Western Super Mare Stores and assistance with the staff management and recruitment for the new establishments. After two years in the post she was promoted to Area Manager for the West Midlands region, but unfortunately Queensway fell victim to the severe recession that affected the UK in the late 1980s and went into liquidation.

In 1990 Michelle retrained in sales & marketing and completed the Association of British Pharmaceuticals Industry (ABPI) Diploma in the ethical promotion of prescription medicines for industry representatives
After completing the Diploma Michelle Joined Glaxo Pharmaceuticals as a Regional Sales Executive responsible for introducing new products and maximising sales in the West Midlands region. During this time, she helped to facilitate the businesses UK wide clinical trials in the new breakthrough asthma treatment “Serevent. In 1991 Michelle achieved accolades for gaining sales that placed her in the top 10 medical representatives of Glaxo Pharmaceuticals in the UK.

Michelle took a career break in 1995 following the birth of her first child. After returning to work in 2006 Michelle was a founding member of Field Security Services and served as the Company Secretary and assistant to the Managing Director. After 7 years of experience with the company, Michelle gained an intimate understanding of the business and, and has proved herself to be highly astute and efficient in her field of work. Capitalising on her background in recruitment and personnel management Michelle has grown with the success of the Company and is now the Director of Human Resources continuing to assist and support the businesses growth and expansion. She is registered and licensed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) of the UK as both an owner and operator of a security company offering licensable services.
